So I have a new freeloadin' resident at the house. Not paying rent, not keeping her share of the chores. Not even an offer to help out around the yard. Instead she just yells at me when I come by. That's not very nice of her do that.

As I was cutting the lawn tonight, I generally look down to see what I'm cutting. Sounds normal right? It was one

I think Killdeer are pretty cool. I remember when I was a kid and watched a show probably on the Discovery Channel or something about how they pretended to be injured, dragging their wing and then lead predators away from the nest. Then, one time out at my parents' property, had one actually do that to me. So I went in the opposite direction of the way the Killdeer was leading me, and found the nest! Really neat. Glad you're letting the free-loader stay, at least for a little while. :)

Birdzilla is her name, because she comes running at you like you stole her worms. She's doing well...toughed it out of a few nasty thunderstorms with high winds. Her nest is not blocked off by any trees or the house or a fence. Nothing. Right out in the open. So I wish her nothing but the best. Can't charge her rent cuz the grass is a little bit greener right there. So no real complaints here!

Birdzilla is an awesome name. Never known of killdeer to be agressive, but maybe you have to be when you build your nest in the middle of a wide open space. Mor-an!

And to keep your grass green, maybe you should tell her to invite all her friends! :)
