Dear Best Buy....

Looked online last Sunday for the Best Buy Ad....saw that they had Madden 2007 for Xbox for 49.99 and it came with a free wireless controller from Logitech worth $49.99.  I was debating about it until Wednesday since they had the link on their website for "This Week's Promotions" They have multiple links for this promotion, so you would think that ( Read more... )

Their service and prices are no better or worse than Circuit City, but I find Best Buy's "give the customer the run around for everything" approach to be obtrusive, unnecessary, and completely avoidable. Haven't been back since I developed that opinion. Sorry you had such a bad experience, though.

At least Circuit City actually made attempts to correct their situations (at least with me anyways) and do the right thing for their customers. For most purchases I choose to go to American TV in Rockford. Most of the furniture we have in the house came from them and I have never had any problems with their service. Sure they are commissioned sales people, but honestly I would pay a little more for quality service and a sales rep that knows what they are selling in regards to a washer and dryer...etc...

Stupid Best Buy. I refuse to buy anything from there anymore unless I know they're selling it at a loss.

YEAH! Kill that gross margin! Buy that laptop without any accessories. Go to your local Staples store for your accessory needs :)

P.S. Laptop sale at Staples starts Sunday. Save up to 400 bux on laptops and PCs. with 20% off select accessories. :)

Ok...done with cheap advertising!

I actually love Best Buy, but I am obviously in the minority here. I have bought all of my electronics (TV, DVD/Sound System, Computer, Boombox, CD Player, Camera, etc...) and a good portion of my CDs from there and can honestly say I have never had a problem. *knock on wood*

I've purchased a number of things from Best Buy... and for working there for a length of time, they have their reasons on why they are as big and successful as they are. They are the WalMart of electronics. Not in price, but selection. They do have the biggest selection out there. The atmosphere and marketing depts. do great work promoting the BBY image. They pay their employees a decent wage keeping the associates fairly happy and the discount they offer entices more people to work there ( ... )

Well the customer service bonus being based on returned items certainly explains their return policy. 30 days? WTF? Now, I'll admit they extend this time by about 15 days during the holidays, but it's still not enough. As far as I'm concerned, if you come in with an unopened item and the receipt, you should at least get store credit. But no, if I purchase a Christmas gift for somebody at the beginning of December, they are left with about two weeks after Christmas to make an exchange if it's a duplicate for them. F-that. I'm done. Circuit City places no limit on when you can return an item and you don't even need the receipt. If I can't find what I'm looking for at Circuit City because they don't have as big a selection, I'll buy it online.
