and i can't wait to do mine.  i've already figured them out, but i don't have a final figure because the damn student loan people haven't sent the statement of how much interest i paid, and that should be worth a couple hundred bucks.

i am pleased though.  thank you, lifetime learning credit!  at least there is one financial benefit to this

but i'd be happy to do your taxes for you. do you have to claim your art income?

Will you come to Seattle and do them, or do I have to mail them to Ireland? (I'd prefer the former). Doing my taxes is irritating because of all the little freelance jobs I do. And then I write off expenses, like the room in my house I use as a studio. It's just a big headache. It's so nice of you to offer, but you'd just end up resenting me for dumping my manila envelopes jammed full of receipts into your lap, etc... I need to get organized and just spend a weekend devoted to the last 3 years of taxes. But it's nice to know you're willing to help. I may email you with a question or two if I get stuck...

I'm honestly not sure if I owe them or they owe me. They must not be sure either, because they haven't bugged me about it. I think it probably evens out, where my refund check from one year will equal what I owe for the other two years. Which really saps my motivation to ever get it done.

There is nothing better than a tax return! And dumb question, but will you get your cut of the economic stimulus package for hookers and blow even though you're not in the States right now? How is that working for you?

yup! i made enough in 2007 before i quit my job, so i qualify. the problem is that hookers and blow cost twice as much over here. :(
