This is so lovely and insightful and felt really true to Ben. It seems like he could enjoy campaign work if he got to work for better candidates, but I think you balanced the career stuff just right with the wariness of traveling and really just wanting to make a home somewhere, specifically in Pawnee with Leslie. I hope this is the general direction they're going to take the story next season. So glad you wrote this!

If they put even half the heart and thought into Ben's storyline next season as you did into this fic (and I hope they do), I'll consider it a job well-done.

Seriously, I can't quite get over how perfect this is for Ben and his character. The journey you show him going on feels so real and realistic, and as someone who's been away from home and all her friends for a while in order to take her dream job, I can say you pretty much nailed the essence of the experience.

Basically, this is perfect. Thank you.

Oh this is so great! I especially loved how it wasn't just about the job and leslie, but also the the rest of his friends and Pawnee (HOME) were a big part of the discovery process. Just lovely.
