Ditto what everyone else has said - this is a lovely exploration of Ben with and without Leslie, and where he might go with his life. And these things are never tidy or clean in real life, so the confusion and messiness of this whole situation really rings true. Thanks for writing this!

Wow. Everyone's already said what I've been thinking re: Ben's journey in this. It's nice to explore Ben on his own - without Leslie - and you did such a fantastic job with it. Wonderful fic that had me tearing up several times!

AHHHHH. Why was this so perfect tho? I loved it. I love how you wrote Ben, I find him a hard character to write and you did it so beautifully here. I loved all of it, all the characters you brought in, how DC is and how he compared it to Pawnee and found his way back. I find that, that poor man has had to really figure out his life over and over again. From Mayor!Wyatt to always being on the road, to having roots in Pawnee and then to go to DC. Yikes.

This is wonderful, thank you for sharing you are the best.

What a wonderful character study! You have a knack for attacking weightier emotions while still keeping everything within the tone of the show. I really enjoyed it.

Thanks! It's tricky to balance the more realistic/heavy stuff with the tonal lightness of the show, so yay! I'm glad that part worked for you.

Oh my god, this was amazing. I really loved that you let him be swayed by the excitement of Washington and acknowledge that Pawnee could be too small after that, but still come to the conclusion that he did. This was such a wonderful, enthralling, affecting read - I couldn't look away. All of this is now head-canon.
