Ways in which I have not assimilated:

  • The way I say "about" and "process" still makes Americans laugh.
  • "Check" still looks wrong to me. There's a q in there.
  • I still use expressions which baffle Americans (I had to explain"can't be arsed" to Shay this week).
  • I still make jokes based on Canadian Heritage Moments ("oh, doctor, I smell burnt toast!") ( Read more... )

Heh, my dad (in AZ) was telling me about how common 'open-carry' firearms are. Like, you'll occasionally see somebody in a suit, with a .45 strapped to their hip/waist.

And the idea of you trying to reference Cdn. heritage moments... Must be like you showed a dog a card trick.
