Petty Internal Strife

I am feeling conflicted in many ways right now, but there is one area of conflict that you, my dear LJ friends list, can help me with.

Poll I haven't taken this specific cycle class before, but I've taken cycle/spin classes at the Y and they always kick my ass.  I wouldn't expect this one to be an exception.  Which isn't a bad thing -- fitness-wise, my ( Read more... )

1) I voted for yoga, but I'm totes biased that way.

2) I've had plenty of mixed experiences with water aerobics. For whatever it's worth, most of them have been more reminiscent of muscle-building activities than true cardio stuffs. Though they do have the benefit of being no-impact on the joints, which I like a whole lot.

3) If you have them, it's also doable to wear spandex-type shorts and tank as a swimsuit. I try and get the shorter-shorts (upper thigh as opposed to almost knee length) for Pretend Swimsuit, but -- in water aerobics, it is not so much of a big deal.

4) I like yoga.

3) This is a Very Good Idea. I usually go for Speedo-type swimsuits (in fact, my current, too-small suit is a Speedo) but they are awfully expensive, as well as being a PITA to shop for. Shorts and a tank would be MUCH easier to find.

4) Me too. :D

3) Easier to find and easier to replace, should different parts of you change sizes at different rates. Though I do recommend getting a dark colored tank for areola camouflage.

3) This is good advice. My areolas are pretty stealth, actually, but my nipples, given the slightest opportunity, really enjoy putting on a show for the nice people. Black would probably be best.

I voted aqua blast, but I'm less enthusiastic now that I realize it isn't teaching any water-based superpowers.

Well, I don't know for sure that it doesn't. I might try it next week, and if it does I will be sure to let you know.

I would normally say Yoga, but for a Monday morning I'd lean more towards spinning or water aerobics because I think it'd wake you (or at least me) up more. I voted water aerobics because it sounds totally fun and would be a new class for you to try. Plus, if it were me, I'd really want to try that class so I also voted to live vicariously through you. :P

I think I am going to try the water aerobics one next week, and I'll let you know how it is! :D

To be honest I am much more curious about your other internal conflicts, but all in good time, I suppose.

Oh, they are mostly kind of ridiculous money- and career-related stuff. I started to write more about both and just couldn't - putting it all down in black and white is honestly sort of terrifying, mostly because I am such a chicken about grown-up stuff like that.

I probably will write about the money stuff at some point, if only because I think you all could probably give me some good advice and I really do need that.
