Ever think about joining a credit union? They're basically non-profit banks with zero motivation to screw you over. Their overdraft fees are an unflated two-or-so dollars.

Drive over to Tobyhanna Credit Union and see if you can set up an account (I think you have to be part of a business they work with, but they let me stay when I quit Cracker Barrel). All of the tellers knew my name and were fucking awesome.

Something happened with LCCC where they kept trying to pull money out of my bank account, and it hit me with three $25 overdraft fees. I went to the bank and told them LCCC was being ridiculous. They said "ok!" and took all three overdraft charges off.

Do you keep track of all of your transactions in a checkbook? You might want to consider writing down every single penny that you spend so that you know EXACTLY how much you're spending and how much you have left. Most businesses take at least one day to credit your account.

I've been doing this for a few years now and it's really helped me become more prudent with my money. Also if your bank attempts to screw you over, you will at least have handwritten proof.

The fault didn't lie with me. I went onto my account and checked. My available funds were 70 dollars including ALL pending transactions and deposits. AVAILABLE was over 70 bucks.
They hit me with two overdraft fees because for no real reason, they ran all my withdraws through on Monday and the deposits through on Tuesday so despite there being "Available funds" they decided that my pending deposits didn't count and hit me for 3 overdraft fees in the end. They told me over the phone, verbatim:
"Just because funds are available funds doesn't mean that they are available."
That is bullshit and the bank is 100% at fault. For once in my life, I am not at fault from the overdrafts. The bank refused to help me so I told them to fuck themselves and they lost a customer.
