Sometimes, I have to remind myself to be grateful for what I have and the fact that I'm alive and have the day ahead of me. It can be difficult for me at times though as I get caught up in worry and hypothetical "what-ifs." Ruminating thoughts may take over and I begin to panic and assume the worst. It's coming up on the 10th anniversary of my mother's death. She's been gone for a while now, but hardly a day passes that I don't think about her. I've slowly realized over the succession of years since her passing how she has had a lasting impact on my life. I can't speak for anyone else but myself and will admit at times I've found it difficult to be honest about how I react to certain things. I do have a pretty nasty temper that a few people I know can attest to. I'm turning 45 in a couple of weeks, and I'm not feeling it. Usually, I love announcing my birthday to others. Well, not this year! I just assume it come and go without any fanfare. Why?
