A little news on the preplacement front.  Got the nursery complete still waiting for the crib itself though (in route) we went to the black Friday sales.  :( not my cup of tea but we did mange to save some money...I think.  Here is the news....Alicia got a position with the state of Tennessee....great news...pay raise/within her degree etc.  Bad ( Read more... )

 We had our final PATH class last night and got our certificates.  Though I never really minded going and I did find it useful I am happy to have my Tuesday nights back.  We also had our final homestudy this morning.  It went as well as expected and now we await our paperwork to be processed and then placement.

 At this point we have taken 9 of the 10 classes needed to be approved to become foster/adoptive parents.  We have also been through 1 of the 3 homestudies.  Nonetheless all of these will be completed by November 29th.  We had our first homesudy yesterday and Alicia and I were as prepared as we possibly could be.  It went well.  We like our case- ( Read more... )

A lot of things in my life have changed and its time to start journaling again.  I am going to spend the next few days re-inventing my journal.  I will blog about becoming a parent...somethings will obviously have to be private due to the nature of the situation.   

I do still read LJ. Just really don't find the time to post....besides all my friends here have conformed like myself to myspace. No excuse there though because I don't post blogs there either,however to kill two birds with one stone I will be X-posting. Alicia and I are closing on our home March 16th. So tommorow we pack the U-Haul (should be fun) and then give the house a quick cleaning. Then we are off to Alicia's grandparents for the night. We wake up Saturday morning and drive off to our new home. I am excited but I also know how much goes into getting situated in a new home in a new city considering this will be my 9th. So it has been a really long time since I have updated. I do have the alibi of being extremely busy though. The Trail of the Lonesome Pine is finally over. I could not be more happy about this.
