A couple of days ago we went to a birthday party - a mustache-themed party.  There were fake mustaches aplenty - the kind that have adhesive on the back to stick to your face.  geekpdx tried one on, then passed it to me.  It didn't fit on my lip well, so instead he put it on my forehead, like a unibrow.  Ha ha ha.  Hilarious.  I wore it for maybe ( Read more... )

Our basement is not a happy place.  We still don't know all of the details, but it includes termites in addition to the leaking water, and so fixing it will involve and exterminator coming, then tearing up the carpet and taking out the wood paneling and drywall, and basically completely redoing everything.  We'll do as much by ourselves as we can, ( Read more... )

There's a leak in our basement, and probably has been for almost 2 weeks.  It smells terrible and is probably molding.  This means a ton of work, and I really hope not a ton of money.  This is added to me working extra and taking hard classes, doing lots of work on the wedding, and geekpdx being super stressed out about work.  I just got almost 3 ( Read more... )

I just signed up for the Shamrock Run 5k in March.  This one will be harder than the Jingle Bell Run, because it starts at the waterfront and goes uphill to PSU - really quite an incline for a novice like me.  But now that I've told everyone, I have to do it, and so hopefully it will keep me on track this term as well as it did last term!  Once ( Read more... )
