Haskell
I'm taking Functional Languages this term, and so I'm starting to learn Haskell. Learning Haskell when I'm only familiar with languages like C and Java is a bit like learning Chinese when I'd only studied English and Spanish...except more so. Beach cleanup
We spent the weekend at the beach with friends, and had lots of fun. On Saturday, it was pouring down rain and incredibly windy, but we managed to drag ourselves out of the house to go to the SOLV beach cleanup. Woo!
They posted the times for the Shamrock Run, and mine was 31:02, which beats my previous 5K time. I made it in the top 25% of all women in the 5k. I'm especially proud of the time because this time there were some actual inclines, not just flat. Plus there were simply TOO MANY people, which means the first half of a mile or more was spent trying ( Read more... ) -
More running!
Tomorrow I do the Shamrock Run 5k. I'm getting over a cold, which will make it a little more interesting. Then I have to turn in my take-home final, and finish studying for my other final on Monday morning. Then I'm DONE with school for almost two weeks! Yay!

Ugly Hill is ending!
I just realized that one of my favorite webcomics, Ugly Hill, is ending - like almost right away! The artist announced it a month ago, but I don't always read the news posts, and I completely missed it. So sad. :(

Sad but true
I really do like the special features to Lord of the Rings more than I like the movies themselves. The movies aren't bad, but the special features are way better. -
I did my part!
I got my tax refund today, so I went out and bought a new pair of running shoes. So I did my part to stimulate the economy! My current shoes are about a year old and work just fine, but I decided to get a new pair that is indoor-only. That way I can go jog in muddy Tryon Creek and not end up with a big pile of dirt at the end of the treadmill ( Read more... ) -
Coraline
Saw Coraline in 3-D last night, just making it before the 3-D theaters are taken over by the Jonas Brothers movie,or whatever it is. It was pretty cool! I'm biased since it's from a Neil Gaiman book and made in the Portland area, but I enjoyed it!
