Living with the absence of God

A few weeks ago, I finally decided to give in to my childhood doubts about the existence of a deity that can be interacted with in any meaningful manner. The information I am exposed to at work as well as my personal experiences with my families' health issues (among other things) leaves me no alternative but to concede that if there is a creator ( Read more... )

Sometimes faith is not really about religion, but about reasoned expectations and that cause and effect will eventually balance out. Perhaps faith is the component to patience, and that encouragement comes from knowing that justice and fairness may take way to damned long - but they probably come around eventually.

Hugs and compassion for everyone, that brings an immediate, if temporary, heaven to your mind that you do not have to wait for.
Anger and uncertainty, likewise, will bring a temporary hell... focus on the hugs, it's much more fun.

Thank you. I appreciate your take on the subject - I believe things do balance out in the end - its just all the misery that happens during the waiting. I hope all is well with you guys - we should try and get together sometime this summer!
