So Saddam Hussein is going to be executed. I've always been against capital punishment, and you know what? Even in this case, I'm still against it. Killing prisoners -- even despotic, dictator prisoners like Saddam -- is not something civilized people should do, and it's certainly not something they should rejoice in. Im against death penalty.. my momma always told me two wrongs don't make a right. Besides that, by giving all this media attention to his death, they are just playing into what he wants! He is being made a big, media character and by doing so and bringing up his actions, more people are going to remember those actions and repeat them. By putting him away and forgetting about him, it would be much better in forgetting his heinous deeds. He is going to recieve martyr treatment by those who agree with his tactics, and that will strengthen their fervor in their goals.

Saddam sucks, there's no doubt about it....but I'm still steadfastly against execution. Yes, even when the person being executed is the scum of the earth. It's crude and unnecessary. Murder = murder = murder = murder, no matter what way you slice it. There are many ways we can deal with sadistic bastards without bringing ourselves down to their level. Hearing that people are excited about the fact that another human being is about to die disgusts me. It makes me feel as though the human race has barely evolved at all.

I agree 100%...of course...

If you had been in favour of his execution, then wow...I definitely would've had to seriously consider the possibility that Air Canada brought me to an alternate universe rather than to Britain...
