John pulled the blankets up and sighed. It was too quiet in the warehouse. Too bare. His family was either asleep or out and whilst some quiet was good, the silence made him itch. He yawned widely and rubbed his eyes, itchy with sleep and no doubt red. He should have napped earlier when he could have but now sleep alluded him. %he pain in his head

It was dulling more as the days passed, but it was still there, like a gate between them. They could see through it, and it seemed like something that should be so easy to get past, but it was still there, and it wasn't quite as easy as it looked.
That, however, didn't stop her from reaching back and stroking her hand over his leg, nor did it stop the gentle press back against him, or the way she sighed softly-the sound just on the edge of a moan. "Johnathan?" she said, her voice soft, "everything okay?"

"I'm just tired," he swallowed softly. "And I really want to go outside." And he really wanted everything to be okay between them, but he knew it would take time, like everything took time.

She pressed back again, moaning quietly. "I can't offer outside, but I can offer a little amusement inside if you'd like," she said, her voice almost teasing, though she wasn't.

He laughed softly, echoing her moan with one of his own. "Mmm, I'd like. I'd like very much indeed."
