He's half asleep on the bed, his face creased in pain because he thinks he's alone. The monitor pinging slightly slower than usual but he can't have any more morphine as it had only been just under two hours since the last shot. John pulled the blankets up and sighed. It was too quiet in the warehouse. Too bare. His family was either asleep or out and whilst some quiet was good, the silence made him itch.
