At the very end of the last night, I created a new character that will appear in a future piece.

For over a year, I've had an idea swimming around in my head to do a piece about domestic violence. It's taken some time to see it come through because it touches on some very personal experience... you might say that feelings I'm coming up with are ( Read more... )

John you should enter this in the Damselfly Art Contest for September. The show is called the End of Innocence and one of the things it covers is abuse (any abuse, spousal or otherwise). This is a very deep, commanding piece.

LOL... I am rtying to figure out how to send you a private message but I cna't figure it out... I guess the point of LJ is to live out loud, huh? So I went over to Damselfly... and I like the site... I'm concerned about intruding on a female space... especially since you said in the description of the site that there are precious few places for female artists to have their voice heard... I dont want to interfere with that by adding my voice, you know? :\ ... the rooster in the hen house... :)

LOL... are you trying to say you like the way I'm crazy? LOL... they are people to me. I think to other people too... I have a whole list of people in my life who are afraid to go into my studio because it seems like everything is alive...

so wonderful John. As a (previous) victim of domestic violence, it really strikes a chord with me. Then again, so does all of your art. Please join Damselfly. BTW, I finally set up an LJ. Your profile still says Boston btw.

John, What a pleasure it was to meet and speak with you. I wish I had more time to spend with you but you were getting busy at the show. "Song Bird" has been a welcome addition to our heart and home. I read in the story of similar details that surrounded my own family member, it was a different kind of violence, mental not physical. Once she read the story she even said "that could be me". Thank you for sharing your Passion your Soul your Art with myself and Baltimore. I look forward to our paths crossing in the future, hopefully near. Marc
