Baltimore

Well... last week, I took part in the American Craft Council show in Baltimore... www.craftcouncil.org/baltimore

I wanted to write in my journal as soon as I could, and this was the first day that I woke up not feeling exhausted since the show, si here I am.

I didn't grow up Catholic. :) But there is no doubt that some of the imagery speaks to me. I'm grateful for that.

I can't believe how quickly time goes by. I've been spending all of my free time in my studio. There hasn't been as much time as I would like, but there it is... we make do with what we have. I feel as if I could spend every day in the ( Read more... )

I've been in the studio a lot lately... thinking about the show coming up in February. For that show, I'm only going to bring sculptural items.

It's funny, because in order to produce work that I feel good about, I have to block out all feeling stressed about the show, or thinking about what people might enjoy seeing... so that I can end up with ( Read more... )

I figured I might as well post there here too...
I did a quick piece last night... of a figure flying through the air.
My intent was to create a portrait of an ascension...
but then when I went back to it, I saw lots of other figures in the piece...

Every time I look back at it, I see something else...

At the very end of the last night, I created a new character that will appear in a future piece.

My studio has been a refuge for me of late, both from the heat and just, I dunno... from the world in general outside of art...and so I've used it frequently. I spend the week looking forward to the weekend...
