Apologies to Troy and AP, but randomly clicking on facebook (worse than opium) I'm astonished to see how many people still put The Lexus and the Olive Tree on their favorite book list. Has it escaped your attention that the emperor has no pantaloons? Are we all hypnotized by the mustache still?

Deadlines. It's like the half-painful, half-happy tingle of blood in a limb that'd just about been written off for dead. Spanish reading exam in five days. I've got deadlines again, have to think again. Can do better than pretending to be busy again.

Just finished America in the King Years. If I had any thoughts -- as opposed to blank awe at the power of this narrative -- on the books I'd post them. But instead I'm struck by this isolated sentence from the "about the author":

"Branch has won almost every major award."

That about says it, no? I want my "about the author" page to say that
