Had fun this weekend. I spent Saturday on horseback at a Renaissance Military school/camp. I thought that I was going to be participating in the Pike Square like I had last Fall when I attended but was offered a horse (Gigi) upon arriving from Sir Raphael for the day. Although I am still sore from being in the saddle so long, I had great time

Thanks for riding Gigi and getting her all worn out for me on Sunday ;-) Just kidding, but the horses are always better on day two of a drill weekend.

Now we just need to get you a red cassock and a helmet hat.

Yeah, I noticed that I was the only one there in blue. So not only did I stick out as the inexperienced rider but also the guy who didn't get the memo of what color to wear. Sigh.

Out of all the helmet coverings I saw there, I liked Kathleen's the best. It had a brim around it and kinda reminded me of an English Ren hat. I, of course, would make the brim wider and more pronounced. German style! ;-) So many projects, so little time.

Easy Peasy. Bring your helmet to the next meeting and we'll make you one. I need to make one too. Eventually, I'll get a wool hat cover, but for now, the Renn hat is quick and easy.

Please tell me you will be eating without any utensils. I got the chance to enjoy a Medieval Banquet of sorts in Las Vegas a few years back. Dinner was very "hands on", if you know what I mean.

Sorry. Got the full dining kit. Goblets, tankards, 3 pronged forks, spoon and sharpened knife, wooden bowls and fine shined steel plates. There's no throwing turkey bones off the tables at waiting dogs at this feast. heh.
