On the sad side of things, I discovered that there would be a "Texas Bigfoot Conference" in October, and I thought maybe that would be fun to go to. Unfortunately, it was cancelled--ouch

I have actually seen The Legend of Boggy Creek. I hope for the sake of Eastern Texas that there are no sasquatches there, not because of the havoc they can wreak, but because they might invite another investigation but that annoying professor and his whiny students.

Sadly, if they have spread to Arkansas and Texas, several may be stalking the wilds of Oklahoma as well. And nothing is worse than annoying professors and whiny students--in those sorts of films they never seem to accomplish anything--except be killed or traumatized!

That movie you're talking about was Changing Lanes, which really wasn't half bad.
I had similar reservations about The Butterfly Effect since Ashton Kutcher was in it, and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was and how much Kutcher didn't suck.

Yes, Changing Lanes! I liked it, too, but I felt like Ben was sort of being himself. I'll probably see Hollywoodland as well--critics seem to really like it.
Oh, and I forgot to tell you that I did in fact see The Butterfly Effect, and as you said, Ashton did a solid job. Definitely a trippy film. The tone and themes reminded me of a less cultish Donnie Darko, which I mean as a compliment...
