Saw Sunshine yesterday. Hmm, what to say? Well, first of all I love the Alien template: a small crew, deep in space on a ship, getting a distress signal. Sadly, Sunshine doesn't do much with the promising situation. As long as the film seemed episodic, with the crew periodically discussing chances of success and fear of dying, tending the ( Read more... )

It sounds like maybe you and my dad had the same complaint about Sunshine. (His review is here.) I still want to see it.

Your dad nails the film well. You know, I knew your dad was a film critic, but that's the first time I've read one of his reviews--are they usually posted on the Tulsa World web site?

So now I'm trying to decide if I want to see this or not!

Probably, yes, but it will have better chances if it sticks around town past Friday; I'm not sure I'll make it before then!

What is this Astros you speak of? :)

Shalom, y'all!

I don't regret seeing Sunshine, so take that for what it's worth.

The Astros? GW wants them on Mars by 2020...stay tuned;)

I remember when the Braves let go of Greg Olson, their catcher, not to long after a big collision at the plate that broke his leg. It healed and he came back but wasn't ever as good as he had been. I definitely find it difficult to balance the business side and the emotional side of sports; I'm glad the Astros made it a priority to keep Bagwell and Biggio their whole careers, but then again, Biggio hasn't been very good the last year or so. Would we be better without him? Maybe so, but I wouldn't want to trade Bidge getting his 3,000 hit with us--if he got 3000 with, say, the Royals, that would seem like a betrayal by the front office.

And I saw that the Braves picked up Franco--I'm rooting for him to play until he's fifty!
