Yesterday, while working at the shark pool at the aquarium, a handsome and bearded man in a baseball cap walked past me for the exit. There are several people, one I'm thinking of in particular, who I haven't gotten back to lately. I've been both sick and working crazy hours. It's a stupid kind of sick, too: that kind of cold that only really attacks your face, so that your face feels twenty pounds heavier and at risk of falling off. Yup, having Thanksgiving at chazellik's house with fellow lost souls Stephen Bor and My Sister. We went hiking in the Oakland hills this morning, the air steeped in the vapor of bay laurels and madrone. The turkey is organic. The eggnog is spiked. As I said: not a very big aquarium. There's a touch tank exhibit in which you can pet the leopard sharks and bat rays, and there's a room with some fish tanks. But the main attraction, the thing we're known for, is the tunnels.
