2024 was a Year of Betrayal.

I was originally going to have a bullet-list of things that went wrong this year, but as I skimmed through my "thoughts blog", I realized that said list would be tremendous, so, I guess I'll focus on what really set me off this year.

So, I'm listening to a local radio station that plays grunge music, heavy metal, and alternative rock. You know, songs with people screaming about death and tearing themselves apart… that sort of thing.

It's recently come to my attention that a 14-year-old boy took his own life after months of interacting with… an AI.  That's right.  A boy ended it all after conversing with a synthesized version of Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones.
