Okay, well, went to the doctors today. This is a different one however. Previously the doctor I went to gave me anti-flamitories, anti-flamitories with exercises, the electrode test to find out what was going on and finally a shot in the elbow to try to resolve some of the pain in my wrist...none of which worked

Since leaving Asia, I've discovered that the majority of doctors readily available in North America are just crap. You can give them as much information as they need, point to pain, conduct tests and the like, and they will still get it WRONG. I have a really noisy hole in my heart that they've failed to find, despite trying. I go back to Singapore and in two seconds my doctor there goes, "Yeah, there it is. Wanna see?"
I'm not sure how to help you out with your problem there. Every time I've had shooting pain down my arm, I've just taken the time to rest it and switch over. Tends to go away. Though.. I imagine it won't be much help unless you're ambidexterous like me, -_-.

Well, problem isn't that I can't use my other arm. I am ambidexterous myself. Problem is, I spend 7-9 hours on a computer everyday for my job so I have little to no time to rest my arm regardless.
Stupid doctors...*boot*
Hope you're doing well.

Oh, true. I'm on about that much daily when university is in session doing research and writing papers. I'm already delegated to reading glasses. Although, yeah. Even if I can type as fast with one hand as I can with two, that arm is still out there and resting on the arm rest or on the table and the nerves just get pinched. Maybe if you adjust the way you have your arms set out? Get a little gel cushion for your elbow, etc?
I'm not doing fantastic, but I manage. I gotta look for work soon. I want to be a monkey for a publishing house. Don't think that'll be easy to get into, but I'm counting on that editor high turnover!

And blah...sorry about the runaround you're getting. On the upside, at least this new guy seems to be looking at the problem with a fresh eye and an open mind, rather than just assuming it's carpal tunnel because that's what the other doctor said. It might behoove your case to have this second (okay, fourth) opinion. Maybe this guy is the right one, and he will be able to alleviate the condition.
And...just what is the condition, did he say? I mean...what does he think the pain in your elbow is from?
