Last month we came exceedingly close to purchasing a house back in Fla. The place was nice enough--a Colonial Revival built in 1953. But it was the land we were after: a one acre lot with dozens of azaleas and mature pines, and a cabana in the back with ceiling fans. It was gorgeous. Why would you move from a place that global warming will partly desiccate to a place it will put mostly underwater? Frying pan/fire. You ought to be looking in some temperate, inland place (and away from any flood-prone rivers) such as the North Carolina piedmont. I hear the area around Asheville is quite nice.
