Do people still use chat rooms? I remember when the internets was new and chat rooms were sweet. My friends and I would write dirty messages and feel like rural-bad-asses. I miss that.
Yeah, the days of AOL chat rooms are a fond memory. I used to have these hack programs that could do all sorts of great things. Such as kick people from chat rooms, log them off AOL, etc. It also had these great pictures it would make (the pictures were made from letters and !@#$%^*)) so you could spam chat rooms with all sorts of random images
( ... )
You did that too?girlhopeAugust 29 2006, 14:50:44 UTC
I get the ultimate prize though, really.
When I was 14, I invited a "23 year old" man to meet me at midnight at my house to go to the lake for a walk.
Basically, I ended up telling my rebelious older sister and she told me that I shouldn't go, that I might get chopped in two or something.
So as midnight approached I crawled into my bed, hoping he would come and leave when he saw I wasn't coming outside.
Instead he came and began honking the horn.
I went downstairs to tell my parents what I had done, as my "online buddy" came to my back door. My dad answered the door and told him I couldn't go with him. He said he just wanted to be my friend. My dad said I didn't need any friends!
The guy went back to his car, but wouldn't leave. (I guess he was still waiting for me). So, we called the police and I had to get lectured by the police about what I had done, on top of my parents.
For years, I insisted that he was probably a nice guy. Really though, probably not.
