day 1 is great i think day 2 needs to be set to the song "if you love it so much, move to cuba" by Where Were You as recorded live 3-24-06 at the zine library in cambridge which i think i gmailed to you when you were still here
yes there are from that. trying to keep that a secret you know? never admit your mistakes because movies are all one big mistake right?
i agree wtih you. i think i used all the reactions, but im gonna go mine the raw footage for a few more. also i think ill cut out some of the zooms or at least part of them and just cut to the shot. in the warren one, its obvious that i slowly increase the amount of cuts as the video goes on, but is it too slow in the beginging? i was trying to make it a little slow...like you want it to cut but it holds longer. does that just make it boring in the begining or is there tension?
now are these actual parts of the movie? or just trailers for it? out of context, they seem a little too long to be actual parts of the movie. not boring, just out of place, maybe? i bet it works better in context of the whole movie. to me, it seems obvious that there's no audio, but maybe thats just because i know. the editing is strong, though, and i liked what you did with day 1 especially. the reaction shots in day 2 are great, too. whats the rest of the film like?
the rest of the film is a mix of performances and going to the shows (like funny stuff at the beach) and short interviews with the band. right now the performances are just the one long shot of whoever's camera work (mostly eric), i need to try and splice things into it though. we didnt capture everything because we did so much pre-editing, but i might have to go and look through a lot of material and find shots of the audiences, close ups of anyhting thats not mouths or insturments you know?
i think for day 1 im gonna put some audio of an interview over it. so like before day 1 start some interview with video and then about a minute into day 1 turn down the song and start some more audio.
i'd love for you to take a look at this sometime in the next 2 weeks.
hi! i thought it was good, and i guess watching it kind of reminded me that there was no audio but in spite of that it was very entertaining. i know this isn't the point of the movies, but as an english major i just thought i'd point out the grammatical errors from the written portion.. Boston University's Warren Towers is the largest non-military dormitory in the United States. (which i didn't know!) but yeah, there's an unnecessary apostrophe in Warren Towers in the film version, and military is missing the 2nd 'i' and i think it's hyphenated. that's all. that's anal. but i think it's good and i can't wait to see the whole thing!
