In preparation  for the final essay I have been researching the references to Bluebeard ,Tristan and Isolde and the Jane Eyre connection in Carter's Bloody Chamber.  What a can of worms. I did a bit of venturing into the links on the course contents and I was blown away by the twelve steps for closely reading texts. A brush up on my literary lexicon was well needed. In English 160 we touched briefly on caesura but never got into polysyndeton , asyndeton, or anaphora.

What's it all about? Even with the symbolism and binaries it is fairly obvious, existence. The most obvious binary is between Septimus and Mrs. Dalloway, these two are the epitome of polar opposites but they rely on each another to make a connection. The comparison of a shell-shocked soldier and a sheltered middle-aged woman makes the story move along.
