DC radio took another dive today to become one of the worst major markets in the United States. Variety continues to dwindle, and the amount of good stations is continuously declining

whoever ran Z104 sucks, mostly because they didn't know how to take care of their people. More than once they fired people off the morning show for no reason at all, with no warning. Erica wound up over at 107.3...maybe that station will finally realize that Jack Diamond is the most annoying person on the planet, and replace him with Matthew Blades. But more likely he'll just go back to Vegas...annoying.
And come on, WTOP really need an FM station? I have their AM station programmed in, I didn't need a duplicate. And how many people listen to that classical station anyway. And why do they always do this with no warning? Happened to 101.1 in NY and to WHFS. Stop it, radio station owners!
WTOP not only has one FM station, they now have 2. Apparently, WTOP is going to be broadcast on 4 stations (two on the AM dial, and two on the FM dial). How does that make any sense? If you are too stupid to not know how to program 107.7 on your dial, you shouldn't be able to access 103.5 too.
I can't believe they took Z104 off the air for a classical station! When I'm home in DC I always have 104 on in the car. What a waste!! Who even listens to classical music anymore?!?

I heard this while listening to DC101 the other night. I was very excited to hear it. It looks like another station realized that highlighting local music is worthwhile. And I am glad to hear that they kept Jenni in that role, rather than hiring a new DJ.
So, Sundays at 9 - listen to Jenni Chase's Local Lix on DC101.
