I'm in Prague now and it's really starting to hit home that the trip is winding up. Of course, we still have 2 weeks or so left, and that will probably be the size of my longest vacations for years to come, but compared to the size of our 7-week+ marathon, it is starting to seem like we're on the home stretch. Back in grade 10, I was in a one act play (my first real performance ever, really), where I was a construction worker, it was called Mere Mortals...I think, David Ives? Anyway, as I was walking onstage I sang the lines "I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man, I'm the man who broke the bank at Monte Carlo!" I must've said those words over a dozen times in the past 2 days. Conversing with people in Madrid has been really hard and somewhat frustrating. Even though we're staying in the centre of the city, there's clearly a lot less tourists visiting Madrid because most locals don't speak any English.
