Ooh, glad to see you're still alive. I've been wondering if your ears were letting you function. Sounds like things are a little better there.
Big news, I'm finally (after more than a year) back at home. At the moment I'm working full-time, but that won't last much longer (couple weeks?) as far as I know.
How exciting that you're still writing, and have finished and are re-working a novel. Let me know if/when you want any SPAG checking assistance :)
A novel? Is this anything like the manuscript I read? It was sci fi and slashy as I recall. Very yum.
Please take care of your health. A close friend of mine had to have emergency surgery for a strangulated hernia and she's still recovering after almost two years. So nothing to fool around with!
I so admire you folks who continue teaching. Here in the States it seems like the schools are expected to do everything from teaching the little angels manners to bolstering their self-esteem. There's almost no time for educating!
I've been trying to get myself back into the writing mode, but just can't seem to get there. I've even stopped all my freelance stuff, mostly because I hate corporate writing and any kind of marketing communications and decided the money, such as it is, isn't worth the anguish.
Answering 911 calls suits me just fine. The graveyard shift isn't that busy, it's always different, there are no deadlines or in-boxes and I don't have to wear grown-up clothes!
Not all that slashy. I hope to aim it eventually at some publisher...or maybe just go the LULU.com way.
I checked with the school nurse. So far no side effects other than my waist is larger than it was the day before this happened.
School here...we be bringing up the little brats as well as trying to instruct them. I'm going after manners this year. They will shut the fuck up when I am talking...or else.
I understand about corporate writing. The money is secondary to one's mental health...which is why I only work a partial load. I always like the graveyard shifts in those jobs that offered it. It's much more free than the daytime shift...and you meet interesting people.
