You at least had the temerity to actually try and work the fractions out yourself. I'd have just looked at them, cried for a bit, and then pulled out a hacksaw and some duct-tape and found some way to make the damn thing fit into the window regardless of silly measurements.
And "wife?" Holy Mother Goddess, when did you and T actually get married? Pffft, and you call yourself a loser. Riiiiiight. ;-)
Hehe, that's why I love the metric system we're using over here ... ;-) (Even though I once was good at maths, but hey, that's been more than 20 years ago, and I've never had to use that sort of calculations ever since ...)
Many years ago in the early 1970's I was starting school. I remember very clearly in first and second grade the teachers giving lessons on the metric system because the US would be converting to it by 1980. There was a push to get with the rest of the world and adopt the metric system. Heck one of our most celebrated founding fathers wanted to back in 1776.
As a kid I learning fractions and the metric system I was elated that one day this great nation would be rid of the old, outdated and confusing fractions. Well I had to learn that this is America and American's don't take to new things very well. No one in the US is going to learn something new.
