I have actually read a book called "if the south had won the civil war". It's actually pretty interesting: in it, the author postulates that by the 1880s, the South would have outlawed slavery on its own, as the industrial revolution would have made it obsolete and uneconomical (plus that the majority of southerners didn't own slaves, and would rally against it). It also stated the prediction that by the early-mid 1900s, the CSA would petition for re-admittance to the Union, and the US would be re-unified.

Pretty weird book for something that seems like a Ku Klux Klan fantasy novel.
