On this, the second day of 2020, I thought I would type a new entry, just in case the livejournal overlords ever decide to come for inactive accounts. Not that my blog has valuable information, for me or anyone else, but I like to keep it around as a grim reminder of how stupid I used to be.

I've heard rumblings of people's livejournals being purged, so I've decided to periodically update mine, lest it find itself atop a pile of livejournal skeletons.

This year was filled with so many enormous movies that it's easy for a lot of them to slip through the cracks. A number of them did for me and I've had to wait to catch them on dvd. One such little gem is the movie In Bruges. One of, if not the, smartest movies I've seen all year. It's a very dark comedy that had many moments where I didn't know ( Read more... )

I'll be honest, the broadcast market in DFW isn't exactly clamoring for new hires and so when I decided to start looking for something new (my current job is fine, but there have been massive lay-offs), my view was bleak. I know there probably isn't anyone on the fence about The Dark Knight. If you didn't already have plans to see it at some point; my opinion certainly won't have any bearing on the matter. I was doing pretty good reigning my excitement in to try and prevent the week from dragging too much. Then the notion hit me this morning: I will be seeing The Dark Knight in less than 39 hours. Time has virtually stopped.

These are going to be the longest two days of my life.

What a stupendous weekend. I saw Hellboy 2 on Friday night, which I really enjoyed, but the real gem of the weekend was Saturday night: Keli and I went to Avenue Q. Now I bought the tickets a couple of months ago and while I enjoy Avenue Q, I mostly bought the tickets for Keli and would have most likely been content to miss it if were not for her ( Read more... )
