With about 97 percent of the precincts reporting in Kentucky, Democrat Steve Beshear had 59 percent of the vote, well ahead of [Incumbent Governor Ernie] Fletcher's 41 percent, according to results from the state elections board.

The Associated Press projected Beshear would win.

Stuck today in Bush traffic for half an hour. Ridiculous. I had seen vapor trails earlier in the day and wondered why there were fighter jets overhead, but hadn't seen any local news.
