Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3
The week seemed to go smoothly enough, Jared hadn’t seen Jensen since the encounter in the kitchen on his first day, which wasn’t a problem although he needed to run some things past him. Jensen was suppose to be relaxing, on a break between projects; from what Jared could tell there wasn’t much relaxing going on, especially when there were phone calls at two in the morning asking Jared to book a table at some LA hotspot.
Despite the fact that Jared had weekends off he was determined to get to the bottom of the fan mail, so far he had had a million declarations of love and a few people asking for autographs. He lifted the bag and threw it over his shoulder, if he was going to work on his day off he may as well do it in the sunshine.
Jared sighed as he finally reached the end of the mail sack. It had taken six uninterrupted hours to sort through the mail from one sack there was only four more left to do and no doubt more would be delivered on Monday. He collapsed back onto the deck chair and allowed his eyes to close against the late afternoon sun. His mind wandered into the past all the pain and hurt washed over him.
“What’s up with you kid?” Jared jumped as he heard the voice from above.
“Nothing… nothing at all.” Jared jaw dropped open as he drank in the sight before. Tanned golden skin, perfectly toned abs, freckles splattered across his shoulders and nose and piercing green eyes glaring down at him. “I’ll um, go inside and um, leave you in peace sir.”
“Nah don’t worry about it, just gonna have a drink and chill out, you may as well stay. You could do with some sun on that pasty ass of yours.” Jensen perched on the edge of the deck chair next to Jared’s and slide a cigarette into his mouth. “You want one?”
“No thanks, don’t smoke.”
“Well fuck me aren’t you the golden boy? Bet you don’t drink either.” Jared blushed, feeling Jensen’s eyes skipping over his body.
“That I do, when the mood takes me.”
“Well let the mood take you. Two tequilas and no skimping on the tequila.” Jared looked at him blank “The bars in there. Go before I fire your ass.” Jared rose to attention and headed inside. “Bring the bottle with you!” he shook his head at Jensen’s demands but didn’t see the harm of a few drinks with his new boss, might help calm him down. Jared grabbed the Tequila bottle and took a large swig, watching as Jensen settled back into the chair and pull his shades down. He took another swig. “What’s taking you so long boy?”
Jared stumbled through the door, bottle and glasses in hand, “Here you go.” Jared handed his boss a glass and poured them each a drink. Tequila was suppose to be drunk in shots not by the glass but Jared could feel himself blushing every time Jensen glanced at him. He downed his glass and poured another.
“That a boy.” Jensen followed suit and held out his glass for a refill “So where are you from originally newbie?” Jensen asked lighting another cigarette.
“San Antonio originally.”
“Ah a Texas boy.” Jensen grinned.
“You already knew that didn’t you?”
“Yep why else do you think I asked for you? Wanted a home boy working for me. Some one who could handle their tequila and enjoys a big slab of cow on his plate and knows how to handle a real horse.” Jared laughed.
“Yeah that all sounds very Texan, I can and do do those things, but I’m working for you, I’m not suppose to be your friend.”
“Oh I see you’re the professional type.” Jensen refilled his glass “Yeah you work for me, you’re gonna be running my life pretty much but there’s nothing to say we can’t have a little fun.” Jensen wiggled his eyebrows, he sighed seeing the confused face on Jared’s face “When was the last time you let your floppy hair down and really had fun?”
Jared frowned searching his memory for the last time he had none work related fun. “A while ago I guess.” Jensen shook his head, dropped his cigarette end on the floor.
“Come with me.” Jensen stood and Jared followed “Wow, they didn’t tell me I was hiring Sasquatch.” Jared blushed. “Come on lets go have some real fun, oh and bring the tequila!”
