This season of Arrested Development was cut short at 18 episodes instead of the standard 22 episodes which are aired by pretty much every show. The show's status is in limbo, which is very sad to people who think the only comedies currently on TV worth watching are Arrested Development and Scrubs, and perhaps The Simpsons. hey there,
i heard that fox may have cut the season short in order to spare AD from doing horribly during the May sweeps month. this way, they don't have as much of an excuse to actually cancel it.
this may be wrong but it was relayed to be via the internet from patton oswalt who got it from mr. cross (apparently).

I like that rumour. I hope it is true! Chad Watson told me a while ago that they were planning on cutting the season short, which I assumed just meant that is was being cancelled. Here's to hope...
