Waking up the next morning, Yunho still couldn’t believe. It had been four nights now that he’d succumbed to sleep with Jaejoong’s steady breaths lulling him to slumber, and four mornings that he’d woken up to an armful of pillows, a messed up left side of the bed, and the smell of his lover still fresh in the sheets.
It was that smell that relieved Yunho every time his eyes creaked open; that reassured him that Jaejoong had stayed that night. He knew, that through the haze of sleepiness in his head, that Jaejoong would be outside, preparing breakfast for the rest of them, having woken up earlier that morning to allow the others more rest.
Yunho admired this in the feral, young singer he’d grown to love so much, his sacrifice and willingness to serve the ones he’d considered his family.
But the days had been rather hectic, and the work Jaejoong had been made to do the day before wore the singer out. And for the first time, Yunho woke up not with a bunch pf pillows in his arms, but an angel, sleeping so peacefully and so delicately nestled against him.
The thought of hunger in the morning washed away almost completely, lost along with the fear of having to suffer Changmin’s cooking as his eyes traced Jaejoong’s perfect features, putting them to memory in vivid detail in his mind.
When Jaejoong stirred, Yunho smiled and welcomed the singer into the new day, meeting his gaze with a gentle one of his own. He leaned in then, giving his lover a gentle kiss on his forehead.
“Good morning,” was all he could say then, stunned to awe as he made it through the rest of the day.
I love you because waking up has never been so exciting with you now by my side.
