Is there any technique to playing the cymbals, or is it just smash smash like the wind up monkey?

Yesssssss, there is "technique" in playing the cymbals! ;P
There is more than just the "crashing" of the cymbals. You also have what's called "high-hats" where you have to hold the cymbals together to creat a muffled sound. Then there's also the crash and the "choke off", which is where you press the cymbals together to make the sound short and quick. Then there's also the "cymbal flash" where you have to flip the cymbals around your wrist making a "flash" motion that adds flare to the presentation. Not to mention, there are also times where YOU are the one crashing the cymbals together and other times where you have to go and hold the them in front of the snare drummers as they tap on them.

Reason Four: My horse Hobby..... Yes, alot of people already know that I am an avid horse collector. My main "horsey" things I collect are model horses made by a company called "Breyer". And in the world of "Breyer" is a whole new realm where you can actually enter your horse models in horse shows (photo or live) and/or horse races. Not to mention they too have a "convention" that meets every year in Kentucky called "Breyer-fest". And if people think I'm horse crazy they should go to one of these things and they'll see how "crazy" I'm not.

That's not dorky. That is fucking horrifying.
