Oops... All things have a trade-off, don't they! :) The only things I'm drinking nowadays are fruit juice, water, and those yummy organic drinks which are mostly fruit juice. And some green tea every once in a while. (Well, gotta have an energy drink every so often for swing dancing!) I'm eating far healthier too (mostly vegetarian, nothing fried, no fast food, no sweets, and smaller portions). I've lost 15 pounds (!) since February. wow. And most of that in the last couple of months since me and Craig started eating healthy. It's amazing what a simple diet change, nothing drastic, can accomplish... and it's SO much cheaper, too!
Oh, and beer, and wine... forgot to mention those. I still drink beer and wine. Actually, I think drinking a beer instead of eating dinner several times has *helped* - go figure...
Mmmmm...Beerr.....mage7223September 2 2005, 17:56:23 UTC
Beer is not altotether bad. It has been proven clinically to have the same health benefits that red wine have. Hops are a very goot anti-microbial, and beer is just plain yummy.
At my doctors visit, it was awesome. I got to check a whole bunch of never columns. Never smoke, no drugs, no medications, no caffeine...I still drink though. I am married to a brewer...I think it's in my contract.
I no longer drink any kind of soft drink or any kind of caffeine, so that cut out the sweet tea too. We went through our kitchen and cleared out all the caffeine the other day because we both gave the stuff up a few months ago. It was insane how much we had.
I drink mostly water now, and I have my daily vitamin OJ like a good floridian.
So why would your orthopedist want to know if you drank caffeine? Well it turns out that in addition to causing monster cramps, regular caffeine consumption also inhibits iron uptake, leaches calcium from your bones, and makes you prone to bladder infections. All things which are of particular concern for women. I think I'll pass (ok, so I didn't for years so I can't really preach, but I can inform)
