We flew in from Honolulu yesterday, and boy are my arms tired!

We had a freaking FANTASTIC trip, full of joy, and sweets, and joyness. If you don't remember, poxyfairydingle and I left on a jetplane and spent three days in San Francisco and seven days in Hawaii. Behind the cut is a rundown of the first leg of the trip along with some really fantastic pictures ( Read more... )

How can you be obsessed with public transportation but think that you should be able to carry as much weight as possible on an airplane? I love those fees, they make people really think through what they need to pack and travel lighter. Most people haul way too much shit around with them, to the point where they can't even carry it. Don't forget the more people pack, the more fuel the jet requires and the bigger your carbon imprint!

Not to mention that we were all dressed for warm weather, and with the wind chill, it was 48 degrees! We learned you could use almost any expletive to fill in the blank: _____, it's cold!

Wasn't it Mark Twain who said "The coldest winter I ever saw was the summer I spent in San Francisco"? Too true.

It was Mark Twain indeed. Layers are the key in San Francisco. No matter what time of year you are there.

There is a Ripley's. It just isn't on Pier 39, it is down the street...I'm just sayin'

I'm glad you liked our city! Probably a good thing you aren't here now though, no blue skies at all this week, just fog and hills. You want sunshine then go to Oakland! :)
Here's Vermont Street but you can see why everyone loves Lombard instead, it's so much prettier.
Can't wait to see your Hawaii recap!

This is fantastic!

1) My best friend in the whole world is also named Monkey Butt!
2) The Golden Gate bridge is so breathtaking. But I felt cold looking at these pictures.
3) Pier 39 has a Ripley unless it closed. I love that stanky little place. It better still be there.
4) Did you go to China town??

Anyway, great report, loved reading this. :)
