As Shingo stared at the girl on the television, he felt an insane jealousy.
He looked up from his monotonous homework at the blurry image on the screen, captured at the mere mention of this heroic girl no one could identify. She could have been pretty, he couldn't really tell, but she did have a nice body that sometimes made his cheeks flush when he thought of her. But Shingo was not in love with this mysterious sailor senshi named Sailor Moon, he didn't even really have a crush on her. He envied her.
She had adventures, while Shingo had homework. She faced demons and monsters, while Shingo faced a screaming sister in the morning. (who seemed like a monster sometimes) She was a super hero with powers, fans and fame. She had everything Shingo wanted from this life. Shingo glances up at his family. His mother and father were both watching the news silently, like they always did every night. His family would play a relaxing (although sometimes it turned ugly) game of Sudoku, while his mother would knit or sewed or sometimes folded laundry. They weren't anything special; just a normal family. Nothing exciting ever really happened with them.
The only one that ever did anything outrageous was Usagi. She kept them all on their toes with her crazy antics. Sometimes Shingo wished, very secretly, that he was more like his sister, but even Usagi was normal once you got passed the layers of weirdness. Sometimes he even pictured Usagi running around fighting evil, but it was a ridiculous notion. They were plain, usual and boring, and Shingo would just have to accept the inevitable, and keep dreaming of a world of adventure.
