Thank you so much for the updates. I'm glad to hear of your world, though sad that it's not better.
I get you on the silence thing. After three weeks in a small Texas town (stars everywhere and oh-so-quiet), coming back to the city was deafening. Took me weeks to adjust.
I also get the baby-language to animals thing. Nearly every female in my family does it and it is effin' annoying. I think my grandma's dog actually got confused because I talked to it in a normal tone. (But then again, I also growled at it sometimes, so who knows.)
I had the vasectomy done when I was like 21. They wouldn't do it sooner. It has been the smartest thing I ever did. Even if they can't reverse it which they most often can you still produce swimmers they pull some out and artificially inseminate. So really it's just a little less romantic.
Congrats on the apple gig. You should look up Michael Gerard while you are there. Old school circuit bender musician friend of mine from SF. He works in HD testing still i think. Tell him I say hello. I think him and a buddy commute from the city too.
when I make it back down to SF we need to go out for irish coffees.

it's weird how background noise affects us. when I first left SF I missed it and now I love the silence.
