Good day, jr__nallers! How are you this fine Sunday... morning? My Sunday is almost done, and I come bearing a selection from my most recent journal. Unfortunately, as
this journal is too big to fit comfortably into my scanner, I had to take camera photos. And it didn't matter what settings I used, everything came out blurry (until second to last picture, which I took using a timer and it came out much clearer than the others. Clearly the trick is not to push the button then...).
(I also must do something rare and give a warning for potentially triggering material. It's one page, and I will link it under a second warning.)
The saga of my eye continues >.> I had plans to go to a taiko festival with a friend, but I cancelled to go to the eye clinic, only for them to be unable to see me >.>
Pen issues, I went and left mine at camp and bought a replacement but... it's just not right. Also, cute Hello Kitty stationary.
Pusheen comic and print-outs of your lovely comments (yes, I am incredibly vain) and discussions that have happened in my entries. Because I tend to post pictures towards the end of finished entries, I usually put these in at the end of the diary as a kind of send-off; but my last diary was filled up with notes from my elementary school kids. So they had to go here instead.
Forward planner. I never did get that haircut.
Prospective journals, though my new one isn't actually on this list. The next is a dot-grid journal from Muji, inside the cover of "That Refillable One from Donki". I've tried a few things out in it, it takes ink REALLY well. I think we'll be good friends!
Ridiculously blurry. The picture is from
this lovely story on the BBC site.
I went back to my elementary school one last time to clean the classroom. The Blobfish was the unofficial mascot of my classroom at Tachibana, ever since I brought in a picture of one to show to my Japanese assistant regarding a conversation we'd had. The original picture got a bit battered, so I searched for a better picture (I found one, of a blobfish with a pimp hat and cane, which is now laminated at sitting in my old classroom :) ) but this one also popped up in my search so I kept it for me XD
Article from my ES website with a picture of a class in progress. The first year kids came in to watch for a few minutes, we taught them "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes."
Stressing out about my face >.>
Clothes!
New ALTS!
Testing out new inks!
Finally managed to get to the doctor. He gave me another round of antibiotics and told me to use them until they ran out or any other symptoms appeared. They did.
Planning my flights home for Christmas, but it's still not taken care of.
Text only but potentially triggering content. The entry is... a little personal, about something that happened when I was a child, that I still don't fully understand. I considered not posting it. My entires rarely contain heavy material, least of all the ones I post here; hence the link. That said, it's as blurry as all the rest, so it might even be legible ._.
Made it into the local Advanced Intensive class for Japanese. "That's, like, where all the prodidgiously smart kids are. I can't read Japanese. I can't even spell prodidgious."
Recipe for Naan bread!
Stamps and tickets from travelling with my friend and her boyfriend. I was already grumpy in the first place. My eye had flared up this week and I was extremely pissed off, because I went to the doctor hoping I could get it taken care of before this extremely busy week.
Postcard. One of my sensei urged me to go to this shrine and get an omamori (charm) from there to attract love, on account of its potency. It's not working :[
There's a gap here; I wrote a bit every day, but not enough to be worth posting. I finished at my old school, went back to my doctor, who made an incision in my eyelid. It was highly unpleasant. And highly ineffective. I've been telling him from the beginning that the problem is higher in my eyelid than where it's showing , but as a patient - not only a patient, but a foreign patient - my opinion on the matter is completely discounted. Yay, Japan!
Fifty Shades of Grey. No, really.
Terrible weather. I went out with some members of my Japanese class - two Americans, one guy from Taiwan, and a girl from China. The latter two had no English, so the majority of the evening was conducted in Japanese. We had a really good time XD
This Japanese Cool Biz thing is such fun. We don't get to turn on the AC until we're DYING from the heat.
Pretty sure this calendar will fill up quickly.
Self explanatory. I wish this wasn't the dominating topic in my life right now.
Giving my self-introduction to my students. English only. It's bad enough that I don't find myself interesting, but there's no AC or even fans in that classroom. It's really disheartening when you can see at least of the quarter of the class is falling asleep, even though you're doing quizzes and interactive stuff to entertain them.
My brain keeps going off in two different directions while I'm writing, and I only ever do it at work or in a coffee place. Very rarely in my own home.
Taken with a timer. How clear is this?!
NOT taken with a timer. I was already a grammar Nazi before I came to Japan, I'm even worse now :( Which is terrible because MY English is failing, and it makes me feel like a hypocrite.
That's all for today's offering :) Thanks for reading!
