I totally understand >.< I have never really listened to x or luna sea and I do really love GazettE, but I know that they have obviously taken a lot of influence from them! Most VK bands have. And they all respect the members of x and luna sea so much. So why would anyone hate on them D: expecially for no reason =___='
I listen to Luna Sea more than X, but I don't listen to either too much either. Especially not anymore. But it's just, even if you don't like them, give credit where credit's due, y'know?
I always remember Yoshiki's blog entry about a party he had at his house and having Tsukasa of D'espairsRay ask Yoshiki to throw him in the pool because it was his dream. I laugh everytime I read it because it's just so adorably fanboyish and says a lot about what being Yoshiki means, really.
LMAO thats so cute hahaha omg I've never really kept up with blogs but that's pretty awesome :P I know that people always make fun of yoshiki and gackt and such but as silly as they are, repect is definitely needed :P they are pretty legendary \m/
Oh, I make fun of them all the time, but then I do it with love also recognise how important and significant they were and still are. I wish more people would D:.
I bet all those bands that weren't a part of hide's memorial were incredibly depressed that they weren't allowed. Or even the ones who were there, but didn't go on with X Japan.
Luna Sea gets shit recognition. And not even from the fans, but publications as well. I saw a magazine that was talking about a brief history of jrock and they went from X to Dir en grey and then just covered Miyavi, D'espairs Ray and Girugamesh. I wanted to fucking punch something, seriously :| When you think about it, Luna Sea influenced more bands because they had a broader range of music. But still, they deserve more fucking credit for helping make the fucking genre.
And this doesn't even cover the highly influential bands that formed in the early to mid 90's.
I can almost guarantee that J influenced a hell of a lot more bassists than Taiji or Heath ever did. In fact, I see Luna Sea come up more often as influences to bands in general.
I think Malice Mizer and Dir en grey are the only two bands that get any recognition for their contribution, really. In fact, seeing as how they've become so overrated, I'm beginning to think they usurped other bands' popularity.

EXACTLY the band I was thinking of.
I can just picture Ruki sobbing when he saw Tatsurou singing X.
