You have to take care of yourself, regardless of how much it costs. If it is something you feel you must do to take care of yourself, then you don't need a reason.
I spend approximately $100 a month for my yoga classes. That is how I'm taking care of myself. I'm taking these classes because they give me a concrete space and time that I can schedule into my crazy week where I can just "be" and meditate and exercise and tone myself up and remember that I'm worth living.
I'm taking care of myself. Sometimes it costs money, because like you, I don't have the self motivation to do it on my own (at least not yet).
I'd be more inclined to lecture or raise an eyebrow at you if you were spending $300 on something more frivolous.. but geez, Jen, a personal trainer is hardly something to argue about. :) Go for it. You can't help everyone else if you can barely help yourself.
I like your current location. Practical and honest. I hear you girl... I think in the end, we have to stop saying "I will love myself if..." and just love ourselves.
