An old friend of mine, Greg McMullan (filkergem), was killed in a house fire on Saturday night

This was sort of an "intellectual tragedy" for me until I clicked through and realized that I know Greg too.

I refuse to use the past tense.

I grew up in the same church with Greg and knew him most of my life, if not always closely. Thank you so much for the kind words about him - it's nice to know he touched other people's lives as well.
