I'm in northeast Pa so numbers 3, 5, and 10 are in my state and number 1 isn't that far away either. I remember when 3 mile island had the partial meltdown and I blame it for what seems to be a lot of cancer in this area, but it is what it is and I'm not gonna lose sleep over it.

I heard on the radio last night that there are 40 reactors in the United States, which were built to the same plans as the reactors currently blowing up in Japan. There's an exception though to the similarity. Whereas the Japanese reactors failed because the diesel generators, which create the electricity necessary to pump cooling water around were flooded out, and therefore failed, that can't happen here. It can't happen here, because no generators are in those plants. To make it absolutely clear. The Japanese failsafe did not work, but we don't have that problem because we don't have a failsafe. Now, don't you feel better for knowing that?

Meh... you've been eating, breathing and living with low levels of radiation the whole of your life lady. I hardly think it's time to start panicking about it now.
