My father dismissed me from school one day and dropped me off at my first organ lesson. He never even asked if I wanted to go. We both knew that I needed to be there. My teacher was also the superintendent of music in our public school system. Boy, was he scary!

So much of who I grew up to be creeped into my soul on the wings of a song.

is actually a wonderful place to live.

We've been here since 1997. The climate here is the epitome of the word "moderate".

We get a little snow in the winter, usually about 5"... once.

In the summer we get a couple of "OMG hot as Hades" days over a hundred degrees... but only a couple.

I just got buzzed by my first hummingbird of the season!

I put the feeders out yesterday. I just stepped out the back door in my red shirt and a male ruby throat tasted my shoulder on his way from the feeders out front up to the apple tree out back.

Winter is officially over in Oklahoma.

Life goes on and life is good!

We were awake until about 4AM watching storm trackers on TV, listening to golf ball size hail knock at the windows and restocking the storm cellar (just in case) so I'll be sleeping away most of this day.

The good news is we got more than 2" of rain, everything is green again, and we're not in Kansas, Toto.

All's well that ends well!

I'm old... I watch a lot of TV. It takes me to the strangest places.

The Real Tuesday Weld are a British band, fronted by lead singer and founder Stephen Coates. They are known for producing jazzy cabaret-style music with subtle electronica influences, a style dubbed "antique beat" by Coates.
